Mangonels

Last week Room5 made some Mangonels. My one was made out of two Fizzy cans full and one mettle fork, twelve rubber bands and a bottle top for the Marshmallow. We did them with buddies. My buddy was Camryn. Our marshmallow went four metres.

Vegetable and cookie creations

On the 21 of November it was the A&P show. First we created cookies. My one had an owl on it. It also had chocolate buttons  around it with pebbles too. It had hokey pokey balls as a mouth and two pebbles as eyes.

              
On the same day after lunch we made our vegetable creations. Mine was a whale made out of cucumber. I cut out pieces of cucumber for the fin and a flipper.

Dear Board of trustees,

I believe that we should have Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) at Nelson Central School.This is when children bring devices to school. Such as Ipod touches Ipads laptops and Tablets to school to use for learning.

In my opinion they help kids learn for example For example I have Maths games and writing games on my IPAD touch.  It is way funner that writing and doing Maths on paper.

You can also go on the blog and do your spelling words to get 10/10. If we had more computers more people could go on them.

We have very old computers so they don’t work very well. But if we had BYOD hopefully they would work more.

In conclusion I think we should have BYOD at Nelson Central School because they help kids learn and we  have very slow computers. I hope you agree with me.

On Monday we went to Bridge Valley.  My highlight was the hydroslide and waterslide.  At camp I tried making damper for the first time.  Check out my slideshow of photos.

Last week Kahikatea Syndicate did a swimming carnival .I did the streamline  glide  I came 2nd in it. Then we did handstands and star fish.
